Terms of Use
By creating an account or using Saathi, you agree to these Terms and to the Saathi Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use Saathi.
01What Saathi is
Saathi is a technology platform that lets members of institutions post and find carpool requests and communicate with each other. Saathi is not a transport provider. We do not own, operate or insure vehicles, employ or supervise drivers, or take part in any ride. Any ride arrangement is solely between the users involved. We are not an agent, employer, insurer or guarantor of any user.
02Verification is limited
We verify only that a person can access an institutional email address. We do not verify anyone's identity, character, background, driving ability, licence, vehicle condition or insurance. A verified account is not a recommendation or a safety guarantee.
03Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 18 years old and a current student, employee, staff member or alumnus of an institution that Saathi supports. You must give accurate information, keep your login secure, and stay responsible for everything done through your account. One person, one account.
04Drivers
If you offer rides, you alone are responsible for holding a valid driving licence, valid vehicle registration and any insurance the law requires, keeping your vehicle roadworthy, obeying traffic laws, and never driving while impaired, tired or distracted. Saathi is meant for sharing the cost of journeys you are already making, not for running a commercial taxi service. You are responsible for complying with any laws or permits that apply to carrying passengers.
05Riders
You are responsible for deciding whether to ride with a particular driver. You should check the driver's and vehicle's details, tell someone you trust about your trip, and leave a ride that feels unsafe.
06Safety and assumption of risk
Travelling by road carries real risk, including accidents, injury, property loss and harmful behaviour by other people. You use Saathi and join any ride at your own risk. To the fullest extent permitted by law, you accept these risks and agree that Saathi is not responsible for the acts, omissions or conduct of any user, whether online or in person.
Saathi provides no emergency response service. Live tracking, maps and chat are convenience features only and may be inaccurate, delayed or unavailable. In an emergency, contact the relevant emergency services directly (for example, 15 for police in Pakistan).
07Fares and payments
Fares shown in the app are estimates calculated by an automated method that has limits and may contain errors. Saathi does not process, hold or guarantee any payment. Riders and drivers agree and settle any cost-sharing between themselves, and Saathi is not a party to that arrangement or responsible for any dispute over it.
08Rules of conduct
You must not harass, threaten, discriminate against or endanger anyone; use fake details or impersonate others; use Saathi for illegal activity, commercial transport or advertising; share another person's data without permission; scrape, copy, reverse engineer or disrupt the app; or try to avoid these rules.
09Messages and monitoring
Chats are not end-to-end encrypted, and we may review them as described in the Privacy Policy. You are responsible for what you send. Saathi has no duty to monitor users or content, and we are not liable if we do not detect or act on a problem.
10Reports and enforcement
To report a user, a safety concern or a complaint, email ridewithsaathi@gmail.com with as much detail as you can. We will try to review reports in reasonable time, but we do not promise any particular response, outcome or timeline. We may suspend or remove any account at any time, with or without notice, including to protect users or Saathi.
11Disclaimer
Saathi is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent permitted by law, we make no promises that the app will be accurate, uninterrupted, secure or error-free, or that any user will be reliable, safe or suitable. This includes route, location, tracking and fare information.
12Limit on our liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Saathi and its founders, team members and volunteers are not liable for any injury, death, loss, damage, delay or expense arising from your use of Saathi, from any ride, or from the conduct of any user, or for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss.
13You protect us in return
You agree to defend and compensate Saathi, its founders and team members against claims, losses and costs (including reasonable legal fees) that arise from your use of Saathi, your breach of these Terms or the law, or your dealings with other users.
14Ending your use
You may stop using Saathi at any time and may ask us to delete your account by emailing ridewithsaathi@gmail.com. Sections that by their nature should continue after termination (including 6, 11, 12, 13 and 15) will continue.
15Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of Pakistan. Please email us first and give us 30 days to try to resolve any dispute informally. If it cannot be resolved, the courts of Karachi, Pakistan have jurisdiction.
16Changes
We may change these Terms. We will notify you of significant changes in the app or by email. Using Saathi after a change means you accept the new Terms.
